“As a lawyer and a member of the New Westminster Police Board in British Columbia I have been steeped in oversight of police agencies across Canada for over 25 years. Among the agencies where I have conducted oversight is CSIS, the RCMP, the Calgary Police Service and worked as a lawyer with the Ottawa Police Service. As a civilian, I have likely acquired more knowledge of the intricacies of policing than most of the population. Having been a member of the CAPG for the past few years, has made me aware how much more I need to learn to be an effectives Board member.
